I have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember, my initial working life was spent in art studios that produced designs for textiles and metal boxes.

I completed a Graphic Design Course as a mature student, and went into partnership with two colleagues for a period of seven years. Here I worked as a "fine artist" illustrating brochures for hotels and the entertainment Industry.

After this, I was approached to teach art by a charitable organisation that encouraged the teaching of art classes to the over 55's. Unfortunately they lost their funding, so I decided to continue the art classes Independently.

My weekly art classes which are held near Carlisle in Cumbria covers all types of varied Art work in many mediums, Pastels, acrylics, oils, water colours and pencil drawing.

I find it a great pleasure and enjoy the challenges that I am presented with by my 2 hour art sessions which are open to all abilities from beginner to advanced.

I also spend time doing commission art work of people and animal portraits. In addition, I thoroughly enjoy the painting of house signs on slate. Designing greeting cards is another enjoyable outlet.
